We are ecstatic to welcome the phenom that is Darius Syrossian!

‘It’s all house and techno & and I’m not interested in fads’ – words from our headline act, not only define the style and sound of the man, but also represent the principles by which he is recognised globally. For the past twenty years he has immersed himself in the house & techno scene; from running a vinyl record store to becoming one of the most recognised & respected DJs in the world and his lauded Do Not Sleep parties.

True to his words regarding his passion for house & techno, Darius will start his new resident series in his hometown of Manchester at Joshua Brooks with the emphasis of bringing a no-nonsense, stripped back approach to dance music – played out in an intimate, underground environment. It’s a shared philosophy that we have been adhering to our own parties for the past 10 years.

Thanks to years of hard graft Darius now has a global following, with a substantial back catalogue of deadly productions and a consistently packed gig schedule. Alongside his exploits in the studio and on the road, he has also launched his own record label-Moxy Muzik, which hit the ground running in2019. Encompassing his core ethos, the label and associated parties, distil club culture down to its essentials, that is: extended DJ sets in intimate club spaces, something which Darius feels current club culture is neglecting. With regular sold out Moxy Muzik events at 93 Feet East in London and South Nightclub in Manchester, Moxy Muzik is about simplicity, avoiding the trappings of today’s commercialised world of underground music and taking it back to the source. Club culture is built on diversity and the music taking priority over gimmicks, though somewhere along the line that ethos

So far the label has featured an array of talent, representing all generations from contemporary acts to more established producers and those in the middle. Artists who’ve appeared on Moxy Muzik include Enzo Siragusa, Phil Weeks, Doc Martin, Ben Rau, East End Dubs, Man Power, Rich NXT, Christian Burkhardt, Tommy Vicari Jnr, Seb Zito and many more. Each artist selected for their unique style and energy, and not their social media following. Moxy Muzik has allowed Darius to fully express his vision of what clubs and raving should be about, from the varied styles of music on the label to the vibrant parties, each one a sell-out.

Darius Syrossian is resolute in his commitment to keeping the soul of house music alive. Over 20 years deep and still as hungry, passionate and hard-working as he was right at the start, this is his life’s mission and his philosophy is to guard the principles of house music, promising to give his all for every set he plays, welcoming all as long as you promise to dance with him all night long...

East End Dubs is imbued with the same urban grit, late-night menace and subtle sense of mischief as the East London streets from which he takes his name. It has been that way since 2012 when he first broke through as a producer with a dark and infectious tech sound that has been jacking dance floors all over the world. His own productions are slick, texturally rich affairs that are perfectly sculpted to be a perfect mix of function and form: metallic and mechanical yet scuffed up with a real sense of soul, the diamond cut tools designed for maximum impact with minimal effort.

As a producer, he makes tracks for special moments in the night that help elevate any set above the norm. He views each new release as an attempt to inject his own free spirit into various different grooves – labels like Dogmatik and Metroline as well as his own East End Dubs Vinyl. Releasing limited edition slabs of multicoloured vinyl, the hotter than hot label has become a much talked about outlet that has found its way into the bags of serious selectors like Raresh and Riccardo Villalobos.

The vitality of his DJ sets, the draw of his productions and the reputation of his label have seen him play across Europe, US, South & Latin America and Australasia, week in, week out. From Eastenderz Showcases in Berlin, New York, Ibiza and Zurich to fabric, DC-10, Studio 338, Kater Blau and Sankeys Ibiza, he plays high profile gigs and international festivals, and always leaves his mark.

His carefully curated Eastenderz label and events brand has cemented his

place as a respected tastemaker in London, providing a platform for supporting new homegrown talent and a way to take the label’s uncompromising party ethos to cities like Berlin, Barcelona and Paris. Recognised for releases and lineups featuring underground heavyweights like Rossi, Toman and Chris Stussy, Eastenderz now sits amongst some of the scene’s most respected imprints and looks set to develop into an integral part of the underground.
